Chen Haowu

Professor, Guanghua School of Management, Peking University; Executive Director of the Humanism Economics Society; Founder of Changjiang Securities

Prof. Chen Haowu earned a doctorate in economics at Wuhan University.

Chen is engaged in his economic endeavor for a long time. Since his entry into People’s Bank of China, he would prioritized his researches on monetary policies and macro-economy, serving as Statistics Division Chief at PBC Hubei branch office as well as the Head of PBC Financial Institute. He ventured into China’s capital market in 1990s, founded Changjiang Securities and served as its CEO. He was once the Executive Director of Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Making his presence since 2000, Chen has served as fellow of Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. As the Chairman of Shimenkan Education Foundation, he pays close attention to the education of minority children in the remote mountainous areas in China’s southwest provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou.

Chen is constantly concerned and keeping close track of economic issues and sustainable development of China. He is currently a member of the “Committee of 100”, Executive Director of Humanism Economics Society and the Chief expert of Guanghua Institute, which is affiliated to China Guanghua Foundation.
