Prof Lye Lin-Heng
Director, Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL), National University of Singapore
Lye Lin Heng studied law at NUS, and holds masters’ degrees in law from King’s College University of London and Harvard Law School. She is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, NUS, teaching and researching in Property Law & Environmental Law. She is Director of the Law Faculty’s Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL) and a former Vice-Dean. She played a leading role in the conceptualisation of the NUS multi-disciplinary program on environmental management – the MSc (Env Mgt) [MEM] Programme, launched in 2001, and chairs its Programme Management Committee.
She teaches each year at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. She was Vice-Chair of the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law and a member of its Board of Governors for many years.
She was Honorary Legal Advisor to the Nature Society Singapore for many years. She is a member of the Strata Titles Board, and was a board member of the Housing and Development Board (HDB).
